About William Allen
William Allen writes and works at the intersection of sensitivity, insight, and lived experience. He brings a writer’s heart and a researcher’s mind to his work with highly sensitive men.

Trained in psychology and originally drawn toward research, William took an unexpected turn into Information Technology, where he spent thirty years as an IT manager at Wells Fargo. There, he led teams of exceptionally bright, complex individuals, many of whom were highly sensitive, long before he had language for the trait himself. That experience gave him a grounded understanding of how sensitive men function inside demanding systems.

After retiring early, he founded BrainPilots in Bend, Oregon, offering hypno-coaching and neurofeedback brain training. In 2016, he began writing The Sensitive Man blog as a way to explore his own experience as a highly sensitive man. The blog grew into his first book, Confessions of a Sensitive Man, followed by On Being a Sensitive Man, a practical guide to living well, clearly, and authentically with the trait.

William’s work is driven by a simple conviction: highly sensitive men possess insight, intuition, and depth that the world urgently needs. His mission is to help sensitive men understand themselves, claim their strengths without exaggeration or apology, and bring their perspective forward with confidence, steadiness, and purpose.
